Terms of sale

How buying a floor from us works.

These apply at both stores. They are written to be read, not to be skipped, so there is no small print and nothing here is longer than it needs to be.

Who you are buying from

D&D Flooring in Gardendale and AL-GA Carpet in Cordova are two stores of one company, trading since 1979. Whichever store you buy from, the terms below are the same. Business license 00303394. Licensed, bonded and insured on every job we install.

Estimates are free, and the quote is the price

We measure at your house at no charge and give you a written, itemized price. There is no obligation to buy and nothing is owed for the visit.

That written number is the price. It changes only if you change the material or the scope of the work. It is not a starting figure and it does not move because the crew found something on the day.

The one thing we cannot see before the old floor comes up is the subfloor underneath it. Where we suspect it may need work we say so in the estimate and price it then, rather than raising it afterwards.

Paying

Half is due when you place the order, which is what lets us buy your material and book your date. The balance is due when the installation is finished, not before. If the job runs across more than one visit, the balance is due at the end of the last one.

The one-year installation warranty

We warrant our installation work for one year from the day it is completed. If something we did fails in that time, call the store you bought from and we will come back and put it right.

This covers our workmanship. The flooring material itself carries its own manufacturer's warranty, which is separate, usually much longer, and comes from the manufacturer rather than from us. We will tell you what it is before you buy and give you the paperwork.

Wear from normal use, damage from water or accidents, and problems caused by a subfloor issue you asked us not to address are not installation faults. If you are unsure which you have, call us and we will come and look.

Samples

Take samples home from the Gardendale showroom, as many as you like. There is no deposit and no limit, and no charge if one comes back marked. Seeing a floor in your own light is the entire point.

What we do not do

We do not refinish existing floors. We sell and install new flooring. If sanding what you already have is the better answer we will tell you so, and tell you to call somebody who does it. See our guide on refinishing versus replacing for how to tell which you need.

Prices on this website

Every price shown on this site is an installed range for central Alabama, published so you can budget. Ranges are not quotes. The only number that binds either of us is the written estimate after we have measured.

Your right to cancel

Alabama law gives you the right to cancel certain sales made at your home within three business days. Where that applies to your order, it applies regardless of anything on this page, and we will tell you at the time.

Questions, and putting things right

Call the store you bought from and ask for the owner. That is not a support queue — it is David at D&D Flooring on (205) 285-8855, or Danny at AL-GA Carpet on (205) 221-7271.

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Alabama.
